One of the tallest pyramids in the world is a beautiful, glass, black pyramid in Las Vegas, Nevada. It is the Luxor Hotel. I hate to use the word, but it was cool. It contains inside a 30-storey black glass pyramid and a pair of stepped-pyramid towers. It is a 11)unique place to stay. Everything is fantastic. The hotel is a must-see attraction in itself.
When I arrived, I was placed in the tower with a view of the pool, but I wanted a view of the Strip; the hotel staff met my request and I ended up with a beautiful view of the Strip and mountains.
The rooms are much larger than you would think. My room was perfectly clean and extremely quiet, you couldn’t hear any noise coming from the 12)atrium, and the king size bed was comfortable. The bathroom only had a shower, no tub, but I was still satisfied. The shower was huge with great water 13)pressure. But the shower floor was quite 14)slippery, so I didn’t feel particularly safe there.
The casino 15)layout is a little confusing and takes a while to get used to. Some complain that it’s too dark. I disagree, because the theme of the place is that we’re in a tomb, and I like the atmosphere.
There was a wide selection of food. If you can’t find something that you like, you must be a 16)vegan or something. I loved the buffet. The service was outstanding. They never let my glass stay empty for long. There are good eats at Pyramid Cafe, highly recommended, although it's a bit 17)pricey.
I had an incident while eating: The 18)oriental chicken salad was not labelled that it was made with peanut oil. I had a terrible 19)reaction. I complained to the manager, who gave me a free meal, and said that they can’t label any allergies, because the list of ingredients would be too long.
The place was spotless, and the staff were helpful. I never experienced a single bad customer service incident.
Unfortunately, the check-in process can be 20)time consuming. Since the hotel is the second largest in the world, 2000 rooms must check out before check-in begins. In fact, the check-in process is relatively fast from what I saw. Usually problems arise from people not having everything ready when they get to the desk — not 21)presenting correct credit cards, not having proper ID cards, or not even knowing whose name the 22)reservation is in.
The pool offers cool 23)refreshing water, but is not a tropical paradise like Mandalay Bay or Flamingo. The water was uncomfortably cold, and I wished the pool had stayed open during the evening hours, because that’s a great way to 24)unwind after a long day of walking and shopping.
The walls are definitely thin, you could hear sounds from other rooms. It wasn’t a problem for me, but I think it would be if you had noisy neighbors. Don’t come here if you are a light sleeper.
The hotel is so big that we had to walk about 500 feet each time we left the room, through a 25)labyrinth of 26)hallways to get to the elevator — and we had the same problem finding our conference room. But what can you expect in a hotel of this size?
Luxor lies on the southern end of the Strip, but is still close to many attractions — Excaliber, Mandalay Bay and MGM Grand are all within a stone’s throw, and if you don’t like walking, there are many cabs and buses available to travel on and off the Strip.
All in all, I got a great 27)bang for the money. I was very pleased with the whole experience!
世界上最高的金字塔是一座位于内华达州拉斯维加斯城的、美观大方、玻璃制成的黑色金字塔。它就是金字塔大饭店。我讨厌用“酷”来形容它，但是它确实很酷。金字塔大饭店内部设有30层高的黑玻璃金字塔，以及一对阶梯金字塔。这是一处独特的游览胜地。一切都十分奇异。饭店本身就是一处不容错过的景点。
我到达饭店时，被安置在可以观看到游泳池的塔楼上，但是我想要观看到Strip区，于是饭店的工作人员满足了我的要求，我最后得到了一个可以看见Strip区与群山的房间。
房间比你想象中的要大得多。我的房间极其干净而且非常安静，你不会听到中庭传来的噪声。特大双人床很舒服。浴室只有一个淋浴喷头，没有浴盆，但是我仍然很满意。喷头很大，水压很强劲。但是浴室的地板太滑，我觉得在里面不是很安全。
赌场的布局有点混乱，要一些时间来适应它。有的人抱怨它太暗。我不同意这种看法，因为此处的主题就是我们是置身于一座坟墓中，而且我很喜欢这种氛围。
饭店中有众多食物可供选择。如果你无法找到一些你喜欢东西食物，那你一定是个严格的素食主义者或者其它什么。我喜欢那里的自助餐。服务很出色。服务员从未让我的杯子空太久。金字塔咖啡厅的食物味道极佳，我强力推荐，虽然有点贵。
吃饭时我出了一个小问题：他们的东方鸡沙拉没有标明它是由花生油制成的。我有些不良反应。于是我向他们的经理抱怨，经理为我提供了免费的一餐，并说他们无法标明食物将引起的所有过敏症状，否则配料单将会过长。
这个地方一尘不染，服务员也很乐于助人。我从未遇见过一起恶劣服务的事件。
不幸的是，登记过程可能要耗费多点时间。由于这家饭店是世界上第二大饭店，所以在登记工作开始之前，有2000个房间要办理退房手续。事实上，金字塔大饭店的登记过程在我看来已经是比较快捷的了。出现问题通常总是因为人们到达柜台时尚未将各种东西准备好――没有提供正确的信用卡、没有适当的身份证，或者甚至不知道房间是以谁的名义预定的。
游泳池为游客提供凉爽怡人的水，但是还不像曼德雷海湾大饭店或弗朗明哥大饭店的游泳池那样堪称为热带天堂。池水冷得让人很不舒服。而且我希望游泳池夜间能够开放，因为这是一天的跋涉和购物之后极佳的放松方式。
墙壁非常薄，你可以听见其它房间的各种声音。这对于我来说不成问题，但是我想如果你的邻居很吵的话就麻烦了。如果你容易被吵醒，就不要到这里来。
这座饭店如此宏大，以至于我们每次出门都要走上500英尺，穿过一道迷宫一般的走廊到达电梯口。我们在寻找会议室时也遇到了相同的问题。但是在一家如此规模的饭店中，你还能指望它怎么样呢？
金字塔大饭店位于Strip区的南端，但是仍然靠近许多其它景点――石中剑大饭店、曼德雷大饭店和米高梅大饭店皆近在咫尺。而如果你不喜欢步行的话，那里也有许多可以带你畅行Strip区的出租车和公车。
总而言之，我觉得此行确实物有所值。整个旅程都令人颇觉愉悦。
